Hi Kels! The cookies will be fine and soft at room temperature (stored in something airtight) for at least a week. Otherwise you can freeze them for up to 3 months.

Any notes you can provide on storage and how long these cookies will stay soft for? My family is planning on going up to the mountains for the holidays and with all the cooking that’ll be done, I’m trying to get my cookies done earlier. This recipe looks amazing and I really want to share these cookies with them

Hi Kris! For 20 cookies use 1 egg yolk.

I am going to attempt this recipe and wanted to double check if I should use 1 egg yolk or two if I am making the original servings of 20 cookies?

Thank you,

Hi R! Sorry to hear you didn’t find the eggnog flavour strong enough. The rum flavour comes through better if you use extract vs actual rum as it is more potent.

The cookies are soft as advertised but the eggnog flavor is very subtle & not a hint of the rum. If you like a very understated treat, these will be nice with coffee. I prefer a stronger flavor.

I made sure the dough was VERY cold, almost frozen before cooking and had great success. On subsequent batches I rolled the cold dough into balls, put back into the fridge to re-chill before going directly into the oven and they came out perfectly. Took out before they looked completely done as they continue to cook/settle for a minute or two after you pull them out. Wait until cold to drizzle the glaze. Delish!! Not super eggnoggy either just delightfully festive.
