Hi Ambra! So glad you loved this one. I don’t recommend using liquid coloring in buttercream, only gels or powders. That could definitely have affected the texture of the buttercream! The cake was really good. I used two 8’ pans instead of three 6’. I also made a berry jam (I mixed blueberries, cranberries and blackberries with sugar, some lemon juice and 1/4 cup of red wine (Malbec, was the only wine I had open).. I spread this between the layer and added some fruit. Now, I am giving a 4 stars because I had trouble with the icing. I don’t l le of I had the same issue the OP had. But my Icing was too runny. I don’t know if I added too much liquid (coloring) trying to achieve the rich color I saw on the pictures. Anyways, I tried to re-whipped, i even wait over night, but it didn’t work. So, I ended up whipping some cream-cheese buttercream and used it to decorate the cake. All in all, I would definitely do it again. Thanks for the recipe!

Hi Cole! I’m not really sure what to recommend as this is a Sangria cake recipe. You could use any kind of wine though.
